What you do

You film four selfie videos of one person, 15 seconds each, at home. Two indoors and two outdoors. In each pair, one with a neutral face and one with an expression such as a smile, a frown, anger or surprise. The videos teach software to recognise faces in different settings.

Caucasian people aged 5 to 20
Under 18? A parent or legal guardian applies, gives consent and films the videos for them. Nobody under 18 can take part without this
You live in Europe (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Romania, the Netherlands or the United Kingdom), the USA (not Texas, Illinois or Washington) or Canada
You film on an iPhone 12 or newer, an iPad or a MacBook

How to film

At home: inside, and just outside your home
Front camera, at eye level, steady, with the whole face in the picture
Stay still and look at the camera for the first 5 seconds
Then, for 10 seconds, slowly look up, look down, look left and look right
Video 1: indoors, neutral face. Video 2: indoors, with an expression. Video 3: outdoors, neutral face. Video 4: outdoors, with an expression
Even light the whole time, a plain background, nobody else moving behind you
No talking. The videos need no sound

Videos we cannot accept

Shorter than 15 seconds, blurry, shaky or heavily compressed
Face not clearly visible
With talking
Lower than 1080p or 30 frames per second
Filmed on anything other than an iPhone 12 or newer, an iPad or a MacBook
